Universal Studios film “The Hunt” will finally be seeing the light of day after being shelved in the fall of last year.
The film starring Hilary Swanke is about a group of rich Americans who hunt “deplorables” for sport. Universal had canceled the film’s prior release date of September 27, 2019 following the August 2019 mass shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH that killed a combined 31 people.
The film also received criticism from President Trump.
Marketing campaigns resumed for the film in February 2020 within a short lead time to it’s new release date on Friday, March 13th, 2020.
The studio is marketing the film as “the most talked about movies of the year that no one’s actually seen”.
