Lyft announced this morning that it will be cancelling all ride share services in California due to AB5 which would require companies such as Lyft and Uber to require their drivers to become employees instead of contractors.
“At 11:59PM PT today our rideshare operations in California will be suspended.”, a Lyft blog post read this morning.
Uber is also considering the same move.
Californians will have the right to to vote against this measure on Election Day this year with Prop22.
