9/11: We will Never Forget

Today is a day that 19 years ago our lives were changed forever. A day where we lost 2,977 of our fellow brothers and sisters.

It’s a day where you can remember exactly where you were and what you were doing as the tragedy unfolded before us on our TV screens and for those in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, PA right before their eyes.

At 8:46am, American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower, slamming through floors 93-99.

At 9:03am, as millions of Americans were watching live coverage on television, United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into floors 77-85 of the South Tower, killing hundreds instantly.

At 9:37am, Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon.

At 9:59am, just 56 minutes after impact, the SouthTower collapses.

At 10:03am United Airlines Flight #93 tried to fight off the hijackers, but sadly it crashed into a field outside of Pittsburgh, PA near a small town called Shanksville, PA.

At, 10:28 a.m, The North Tower collapses, killing nearly 1,000 people. A group of firefighters in Stairwell B miraculously survived the collapse.

Following the attacks, President Bush spoke at Ground Zero where there World Trade Centers in New York City once stood and said through a megaphone: “I want you all to know — it can’t go any louder– I want you all to know that America today is on bended knee, in prayer for the people whose lives were lost here, for the workers who work here, for the families who mourn. The nation stands with the good people of New York City and New Jersey and Connecticut as we mourn the loss of thousands of our citizens. A worker yelled from the crowd, “I can’t hear you!”. President Bush responded, I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people — and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon. 4 planes, 2,977 innocent people killed. 9/11 is a day that we will never forget.
