How did you get started doing music?
I first started off in a church choir with my dad when I was around 5 years old, as I got older I realized I grew such a strong passion and love for singing that I went into theatre, then a girl group. Years past and now I have been releasing my own music, songwriting and learning new things and experiencing every door that opens for me.
What was it like recording your first ever song?
Very nerve racking as I would say, didn’t know what to expect. I thought it was going to be quick and simple but it was the total opposite, also the best experience in the most fun I had ever had. It gave me a challenge and every time I get in the studio I’m faced with a brand new challenge and makes me feel determined. Recording my first song was one of the best moments of my life.
What’s your process for developing creative for music and videos?
I have such a wild imagination that I want to put every theme, every story line, every outfit, and everyone in the music video. I start out with the lyrics, meaning and background of the song and then my mind just starts racing but luckily I have the best team to keep me in check and also help me out with the ideas and keep our focus on making the videos perfection and fun for the viewers.
Any advice you’d give to somebody who wants to make music?
You’ll never know how much you’ll actually love writing music or just singing until you let your mind be creative, let loose, have fun, and just relate to your own lyrics. You can never be too hard on yourself, always be you and let your heart write the lyrics and your brain do the work. If you wanna make music, then do it, I promise you won’t regret it!
