Record Breaking Heatwave and dry conditions add fuel to the fires in SOCAL and cause rolling blackouts

121 degrees was the recorded temperature in a suburb just north of Los Angeles, CA on Sunday setting the record for the highest temperature ever recorded in Los Angeles, County.

Temperatures high enough to cause the California power grid system to be overwhelmed with demand. The ISO hit level 2 yesterday which meant rolling blackouts for many Californians to release strain on the grid to prevent it from failing.

Some were without power for hours.

SoCal now has to look forward to a Santa Ana Wind event with gusts between 30-50mph Tuesday night into Wednesday that could spawn new fires and spread existing fires in Pasadena and elsewhere.

On the bright side, the high pressure system causing the record breaking heatwave moves out on Wednesday bringing cooler conditions to the west.
